Paddle tires in the sand? 2 or 4?
Hi. I'm new to this site and was wondering if anyone has taken their 4wd monster trucks in the sand? I am taking mine to Dumont Dunes on Pres. weekend and am wondering if it's better to get rears only or rears and fronts. Just wanted to get some feedback and see what the general opinion or experiences were.
Thanks,
Chris

I forgot to say it works better if you cut some of the paddels of each tire all so. I stager mine when I cut them so there is not as many paddels.

The only reason you'll ever see only 2 paddles used on any truck is when its 2WD. They but mohawk or bald tires on the front so they can "carve" and dig into the turns.

I understand the 2wd/4wd thing. My question was really pertaining to how the difference in performance was. Was it really necessary to run paddles in the front also? I would think with 4 it would throw up a huge roost and toss sand all over the truck.
Thanks for the feedback.

on todays 4wd trucks you need to run the same diameter tires on the front and rear. UNLESS the truck has a center diff. All 4 wheels spin and receive the same ammount of energy at the same time. Diffrent sized tires front and rear would cause some interesting drivetrain issues.
