Do a search for STS.28 or SH.28"aka" Lrp spec 2,xtm 457 they are great engines and can be found on e-bay for $125 or less.

lrp spec 3, SH .28 pro2, XTM 457

all under 180

edit: i forgot to add they are all the same engine with MINOR minor porting differences, but all are just as good as the the next. its more or less brand loyalty or colors. SH is orange and black, and the lrp and xtm are black and blue.

hpi, ofna, etc. search tower and compare parts, size, price etc. you can mix and match providing they are for the same physical size of parts. sorry i can't be more specific. i'm sure someone else here could give part #'s.

I put an WASP .28 in my warhead, but it was too powerfull, after tuning when I gave it WOT the spur gear would strip in place, I went through 3 spurs before I decided that I may not be meshing the gears right. So I took it to my LHS and they meshed the gears for me, and of course the same problem.

The point is, be carefull how much power you put in your warhead, the stock engine was very weak for it's size. so I'd imagine even getting a slightly smaller engine like a .26 will provide more power. All I can say is, ever sience I traded my warhead off, My life has been happier.

You must have had other problems cuz, if you would have read a few pages most of us are running different engines, with the same power if not more than the wasp. no spur problems at all.

I would use the harden steel spur and bell . On what ever engine you use the More power the more strength needed . The stock gears would not hold up to the sucking Super tiger .27

Ya Ive been going threw the debate to either get a new pull start for my warhead or sell my xxx-nt and get an LRP Z28 for it.
I still cant decide???
Things Im upgrading at christmas.
1. Aluminum Bulkheads (All around)
2. Aluminum steering bellcrak set.
3. Aluminum Steering draglink.
4. Metal Spur
5. Metal clutch bell.
6. Custom roll cage.(the stock one sucks!)[:@]
7. Rechargable reciever battery.

I hope this all happens!

If I got all this stuff how well would it preform?

dude save your money and buy a os 21vz-b v-spec or a 30vg. they fit perfect in the warhead, i have them in my two warheads. they
have kick ass power. and go with the up grades like the 3pin flywheel/shoes, steel spur, steel clutch bell. You will love the truck.
