First nitro monster-which of these should I get?
Hello, Ive been into electric trucks for a long time and Im about to try out a nitro for the first time.
So my question is-which of these three would be best for a first timer? I like to bash the crap out of my RCs(if it aint brooken Im not having fun).
Which will hold up best to bashing? Which is the easiest to tune and keep tuned? Whats the best value for the buck?
My LHS carries these along with parts, so Id like it to be between these 3 models.
1-Team Associated MGT
2-LOSI After Shock
3-Traxxas T-Maxx
They are all the newest models btw.
Any help would be appreciated.

Seem to be a lot of electric guys looking to go nitro recently..
Well the T-MAXX you can probably remove from the list right off.. These forums seem full of T-MAXX owners posting things like "I'm sick of my T-MAXX breaking, what should I get that is tough and will stay in one piece??"...
All I've ever read or heard about the MGT has been positive. It's big, supposedly very tough, and it's reasonably priced, easy to work on, and tuning parts are abundant.. I'm a Savage guy, but I'd get an MGT 4.6(MTA4 S28 here in Europe..). In fact, I might next month at the hobby trade fair if I can get a good deal..
Lots of people are hyping the Aftershock at the moment, but - THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION NO OFFENSE TO ANYBODY!!!... - it's still new and unproven.. From what I know, it's basically a downgraded LST1 - which as far as bashing out of the box goes, I wouldn't even consider. I do believe that Losi trucks can be the best trucks out there - but you have to upgrade the hell out of them to make them tough and reliable. I read around quite a bit, and that's the conclusion I've come to - right or wrong.. I don't have one, but I considered getting an LST2 a while back, but based on what I heard on various forums, I gave up - just too many questions and uncertainties and recommended upgrades for the price, for my taste...
But, insofar as you've asked in an open forum, that's my two cents based on what many, many people have said. I in no way mean that as an attack on anybody in any way whatsoever..

Thanks Patrick and Bad, Im leaning toward the MGT to start with. The owner of the LHS said he would go with the MGT also, I just wanted some more opinions.
Anymore help would be great. Thanks.

Monster GT[sm=thumbup.gif]
Aftershock[sm=thumbup.gif]
Tmaxx[sm=thumbdown.gif]
Of the 3, the MGT is the easiest to work on, the Aftershock is not far behind though... they are both going to be easy to tune. The Aftershock is the best bang for your buck IMO.... You should consider the Savage also if you plan to beat the heck out of your truck, the MGT is the toughest out of the 3 you listed though. (now I'm sure there will be Losi guys that will come in and jump all over that comment lol)

The Aftershock is faster, it does over 40 (claimed) If you go that route, you should get RPM arms or upgrade to the LST2 arms/hubs/axles and it'll be pretty solid too

MGT is the easiest to work on, or at least that is what I've heard, but If it were me I would go with the Aftershock.

If you're just talking about out of the box trucks, for bashing I would always go for toughness over a few extra mph.. Fast trucks aren't very fast after all when they're broken..

I vote MGT too , mine has been a blast so far and it is tough as nails too . Only thing you really need to do to it is get the red or copper shock spings as the stock blue ones are too soft , there are other mods you can do too which dont cost money and help performance (reciever reconfiguration and fuel line on the brake lever) . Me and my son and a friend went to a local track and it was kinda rough , my sons REVO couldnt take the rough stuff but could get me on the striaghts , my buds GS Storm was the same way . Both were modded with good shocks ect .
Buy the MGT you will like it . Plus Associated's customer service has been great so far ....

Well I went with the MGT. Seems like a great truck, now if I can work out my tuning problems(thats a whole different thread) I will be all set.
