Default Clod question

I'm sure this has been posted before and i'm sorry to the guys who get mad at people who dont search but i'm in a hurry. I'm building my dad a new Clod Buster for his birthday since he always wanted one after he sold his first one when i was just a kid. But i'm wondering what ESC do most people use? He just going to be using the stock motors it comes with for now, i just want to get rid of the mechanical junk. He may want put better motors in later on but nothing too beefy since he likes the stock truck. So if someone could recommend me an average ESC that could handle dual motors that would be Great! It also has to be able to handle 7 cell batteries.

Thanks guys,

The three choices are super rooster, novak super duty xr, or the traxxas evx. The rooster can handle 10 cells and around 10 turn motors in a clod while the super duty xr can handle a 16 cell twin pack configuration and any pretty much any motors and the evx can handle 14 cells, twin pack, with mildly modified motors. For your specs, I would go with a used super rooster as it's probably the best and cheapest choice.

Another option would be the [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKYN6&P=]Tekin Rebel[/link]. You could go as low as 2 20 turn motors in parallel. [link=http://www.mtroniks.net/mtroniks_SC_products.asp?CategoryID=1&SubCategoryI D=2]mtroniks[/link] has the Sonik4 SUPER RV that would work also, plus it is waterproof. I would stay away from the EVX personally. Your limited to using 12-14 cells (can't use 6 if you want), the BEC only puts out 5 volts instead of 6, and for my E-Maxx it hasn't proven to be very durable, fried 3 of them so far. I've had a Super Rooster for about 6 years that has been flawless. The best in my opinion would be the Superduty XR, but it is the most expensive.
