Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I have purchased my first Nitro MT and it will be here in about a week. I went with the T Maxx 2.5, and I would go into the reasons, but all you out there that has one already knows. I am so excited to get to play, rather than just reading about you all having so much fun with yours. Crash you better watch out I am gunna want to be out there bashin around in no time. Anyhow, just thought I would let you all in on the excitement. Updates are sure to follow. Peace!!!

hold right there, son. dont get too exited. be patient during

the breaking in.

some poeple cant wait until the the breaking in finishes.

that is very BAD for the engine.

make sure you follow the manual , and do the breaking in.

after the break in. you still need to be careful. the full break

in is more than 10 tanks.

That's great news!!! I'm glad you finally got to buy one. Your going to love it!!!

We're going to have to get together. Let me know when you have time.....AND....we need some nice weather!!!! Ohhhh....I'm sure that won't stop you. I'll bet it could be 50 below and you would be out cranking on your new TMaxx ready to go at a moments notice.

Hey Land, no feelings hurt here =). I know this is all in good fun. From reading the other posts on break-ins and such. I know it is not a task to be taken lightly. I plan on doing everything by the book, dotting all the T's and crossing all the I's Ha Ha Ha just kidding, but seriously I plan on being very careful and doing everything rihgt. Even if I have to break the sucker in, inside my house I will(Yeah right my girlfriend will love that one) Anyhow Crash, we will have to get together soon. Keep your fingers crossed on the weather. Until then, see you all later.

it is not a good idea to run nitro indoor. specially during the

breaking in, the engine is running extremely rich, lots of smoke

will come from the pipe. those smoke smells like chemical weapon.

Did you just say dot all your T's and cross all your I's. J/K
Glad to here that you could get one. I just broke mine after idleing to tanks and driving for half of one. It stalled at the end of my drive way so i just took it in the house. I was then trying to make it so i could get some more throttle, because if i would barly give it gas it would stall.

Well almost had it so it could get half and it stalled on me, went to go start it and pull, snap, ping went to rip cord.

Took it in the house pulled off the engine took of the case to the rip cord and the spring is snapped and the cord is no good. Do you know where i could get anymore? I have the Ofna Ultra Lx Pro Buggy. :boxing:

Default Break In Process....

I am new to the whole NITRO scene and recently bought a TMAXX.

I followed the break process from the DVD.
Well, close to the video... it takes a lot of will power

The problem is, I had no clue what I was doing and really worried that I messed up the engine from running it too hot? I now have a temp gun and from reading some other post in here.... I am planning on switching fuel.

But, how do I know if I messed up the engine and how much is it to rebuild it? or will I need to get a new one?

If an engine does go bad.....YOU"LL KNOW IT!

As LandShark said....keeping the carb adjusted so it's running on the rich side will help your engine reach it's intended life span.....barring any unforeseen things like premature wear....or engine failure due to bad parts....etc. Running an engine lean will certainly damage it and what is most noticeable is a loss of power "anytime you run it" at any needle settings.

Also....if an engine is run lean...and it gets hot...and I mean hot....it will smoke which will be a visible sign to you that you may have just ended it's usefulness.

Re-cap.....run it rich.

Good Luck!

something iv noticed about the nitro motors is if you are running them to lean they try to let you know it with flame outs, like it wont idle right or stalls dureing acceleration,if you listen they will tell you whats wrong

WEEEEEEHAAAAWW!!!!! Got my truck from the wonderful people at FedEx today. Tower Hobbies did a wonderful job getting it to me ASAP. Now hopefully I get my fuel tomorrow so I can start the break in process. I hope the weather is as good as it was today, it was truly glorious, as Crash well knows. I will be posting some pictures as soon as I figure out how. Laters.....

Dlock and I are neighbors....somewhat. We live about 15 miles apart. He will be able to buy his fuel locally at Hobby Town so he shouldn't have the same problem you had....with no fuel showing up.

Dlock....Pray for good weather buddy!

I did not have a problem getting the fuel shipped to me. Even though one came from Illinois, and the other came from Nevada. They got here one right after the other. Now all I need is good weather to break this thing in.....

Ahhhh....I didn't know that you bought your fuel by shipment? I have been buying the Wildcat brand at Hobby Town. It's a highly rated fuel....and seems to be working well in my TMaxx and other rigs.

I just ordered some of the Traxxas Top Fuel. I figured I might as well get it all in one package. I also ordered a Trinity starter package http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXATF8 That should be here soon, but I got enough to get me going for now .
