So i just ordered a Tamiya Twin Detonator bundle thing from Tower. I've always wanted one of these big-ass rc cars, but just never have the extra money to justify the purchase. i'm not currently all that interested in racing, just tearing around in this giant dirt pit behind my work.
So i've been looking around a bit in a few forums today trying to learn as much as i can at once (jesus there's a lot of information out there) and my question is: does anyone have any favorite websites they go to to order upgrade parts? and if so, how do you know what parts will fit/work with your particular car/truck? also, does anyone have any particular "hopups" (see i'm learning already) they'd recommend for the detonator?

Hi, Welcome to the forums.
Tamiya's website and Tower's are two decent ones for upgrades/parts/compatibility. I like the TD pretty well and have a few favorite versions (other than stock) All involve increasing voltage .
Stock 27 t motors with the MSC or an ESC and 8-10 cells
20 turn motors with 8 cells and an esc
14 turn motors with an ESC and 6-7 cells
35 turn lathe motors with 16 volts and a dtx streak esc
45 turn lathe motors with 20 volts and an evx esc
55 turn lathe motors with 24 volts Ka-6 esc
65 turn lathe motors with 28 volts and a KA-6 esc

Sorry, My bad. Pretty much just increasing the power/speed by adding cells to the battery (higher voltage) You'll love the truck and it holds up real well in stock form.
