Yup, kind of skeptical too on the recall for the dogbone. They might have done if for some, but it doesn't means it's an official recall...
I am 100% sure an positive for the upright, but didn't ear one thing from HPI about the dogbone.
As said before, the stock dogbones should hold-up find with the stock engine.
If you start upgrading engine, like OFNA .25 or 8 port, then yes, problems might occur.
But the upgraded heavy duty dogbones from HPI are dirty cheap @ 13.99 a pair ( the original ones are $11.99 a pair)
It will do just fine with the above mentionned engine.
Now, if you want to throw a RB S7 or C5, then you'll have to go to the HB CVDs. They hold-up fine for this kind of abuse.
