OK Guys...I need your expertise. I'm going to hand you an imaginary $550.00. (sux I know...bare w/ me) We send you off to the LHS to buy an off road racer. MT...Stadium...whatever.

What would you do with this $550.00 from truck...to necessary parts to get started...to possible mods if there's anything left over. Or would you just hang on to it until you could save up more cash for something else...What would that something else be?

Keep in mind...you wanna race this thing eventually.

On your mark...get set...GO!

Default Lets spend my cash!!!

I would buy a Savage 21. 400.00
7 packs of dogbones 100.00
Fuel 20.00
Glow Starter 20.00
2 meals at Mc D's 10.00

Total 550.00

Just kidding, but I am reall upset with the quality of the stock dogbones on the Savage. Instead of the 7 packs of bones, I would spend it on the CVD's for the front and rear.
later.....brewyet

Brewyet:

I Have the same issues with the Digbones for my HPI cars... I usually bend about 1 every 2 weeks... I read somewhere that you can make them stronger by heating them up with a blow torch...

But agreed.. HPI dogbones suck..

Savage: $400
Ofna .25: $120
Hot bodies CVD's $60
RB 086 pipe $45

Total: $625

Put the stock engine on E-Bay : $80

625 - 80 = $545

Still have $5 to spend on beer

And then you have one FAST and TORQUE beast, yet very TOUGH and DEPENDABLE truck. Will look COOL too !

Shut up!...Comm'on landshark...you can not compare them. better because the savage(.21)..tmaxx(.15)...but still the tmaxx is 10mph faster than the savage.and it has a .15.lol...and with a tmaxx with the right stuff will take on a savage anyday. The savage 14pnds(sumtin like that) with a more powerful engine is slower heavier and the savage has weaker parts. My tmaxx is half the weight of your savage.

BOTH ARE GOOD TRUCKS!!!!!! AND IT IS STUPID WHEN PEOPLE COMPARE A .21 WITH .15...BOTH ARE GREAT TRUCKS!!! THE END!

SuperMaxxMan,
Dude we are not comparing a .21 against a .15. Sure those are the engines that are in the TRUCKS. Keyword = Trucks, we are comparing the trucks.
You have to look at the all around about the truck. Sure the savage has like 1 prob = dogbones.
That one thread about: Vote for most broken parts.
People that have the t-maxxes had the long lists (5-10 things) and the people with the savage had the short ones (1-5) things Average.
The T-maxx only weighs about 2-4 pounds less than the savage.
I think it was 11.3 for savage and 9.4 or something like that for the t-maxx.
Sure the T-maxx is faster, I dont disagree on that! But which truck usually wins on the track the Savage. Savage has a better handleing than that of the T-maxx on the track. Strait shoot outs, usually T-maxx will win.
We are not comparing the engines but the TRUCKS!!!!!.

I wonder if HPI reads these posts?

I hope they do, because I am glad that it is not just me breaking Savage Dogbones. Those things are weaker than my grandma's hip bones.

Later.......
