Tranny Probs?
Hello all, I have 3 gallons through my GST 7.7 (purchased new).
I snapped a cross pin assembly (Im assuming thats what it was) where the front end drive shaft makes up with the center diff. There is one pin left in there but the two shafts still spin freely, so the truck does not move. If I flip it on its back and gas it the fron wheels barely spin and the rears do nothing. For the mean time I through bolted the shafts with a 4mm and lock nut. It worked but the truck seems to really jerk if I get on the gas hard from idle so I have to ease it in. Fixed for now I guess.
Also, I gathered up some ballsack and messed around with the set screws in the tranny, in an attempt to get the mysterious 3rd gear to come out. Knowing I could compromise a perfectly working 2 speed I was nervous. After about an hour I took it outside with no results. I noticed it tends to stutter beetween gears more now though (***!) I have to really jack on the throttle to break into 2nd which I dont like due to the previously mentioned drivetrain issue. Does anyone have any suggestions.
Pete
