I was wondering if anyone has broken their pullstart on the Savage yet. I've been through 3, including the stock one, and just finished breaking another. Well my question is if anyone knows of a good pullstart for the savage that's way more durable than the stock one. Since, I'm going through these like batteries I'm planning on installing the pullstart myself this time, since this damn hobbie is putting a dent in my pocket
Does anyone know how hard it is to install the the pullstart on the Savage?
Thanks in advance.

dont pull it out over 30cm.
for new engine, if you feel too difficult to pull, loose the glow plug
a little, then pull.
after the engine is started, re-tighten the glow plug

I saw on ebay someone is selling a braided metal pullstart ropes.
Those should be unbreakable.
How exactly are you breaking them?Is it just the rope your breaking?
If you over pull it you should be able to take it apart and fix it.

Also make sure you pull it straight out from the engine, you don't want it rubbing on anything that could lead to premature wear on the rope

The rope is not ripping it just wont retract. I assumed this wasn't fixable, since the LHS replaced the whole pull starter. If it's fixable can anyone give me some details on how to fix it.
By the way I'm a newbie to nitro cars I previously owned only electric cars.
Thanks in advance.

pyroman2000 has taken his pullstart off of his savage and it wasnt hard. He just had to get the engine off of the truck, then unbolt the three bolts. From there you just remove it and put on another one. coudlnt be simpler!!! good luck with the truck
