I got my savage X and it shifts to second nicely but I wanted to know how early u guys set your shifts or how late? I guess its all personal preference? I would assume the later the better?

Well sometimes later the better. For the perfect shift it would be one that shifts after first gears powerband and shifts right into second gears power ban. It would be almost impossible to do though since its to hard to tell what rpm and everything the vehicle is doing. For me I like to have mine set to a little bit before first is completely wound out. Some people like there first gear to be a short one and shift into second sooner. Since most max horsepower comes later in 2 stroke and 4 stokes I like mine to shift a bit later.
