By gas I hope you mean nitro... I would go with the savage X or savage X 4.6... hobbypeople had the savy X on sale for $400 RECENTLY, i have one, it is well worth it... I have spent money on cars like the jato, but they are just too easy to break. GO WITH THE SAVAGE!!!

For $400 range, a Monster GT, Aftershock, or Savage would be a good choice. I've got a pair or MGTs and they have been very tough bashing trucks. If you want to pick up parts locally, though, the Savage is probably the way to go. Most hobby shops seem to have a good stock of Savage parts, but limited on the MGT.

the tnx is 500 so how is that under 400? if your going to raise the buget you might as well raise it another 80 bucks and get a lst2

Yeah, as much as I like my MGT, the Aftershock is a good first, because you get a nice radio with it. Since I've gotten a Spektrum, I've swapped all my receivers out, because I absolutely hate interference and short range.

perfect for that price range is clearly the MGT. it's a great basher and a proven winner on the track. you dont see many savages winning races. the MGT is 100 times easier to work on as well.
