While I do not doubt you will enjoy your Carson I do not know how close it will be to the MCD. I had an MCD 4X4 Monster for a while as well as an FG. The MCD is an amazing rig. I bought it after my FG Monster and quickly sold the FG after I got it.
I have since sold it but IMHO, the MCD was worth every penny.
Carson does put together a nice product though, and a shaft driven 4X4 for that price is a great deal, one I may have to look into down the road. Trust me once you get it, see the size and realize you can run for 45 minutes at a clip without tuning you will not even be thinking about this MCD comparison. You'll be too busy loving your ride!!

Enjoy it.

wow awsome, i feel better about buying it. my mcd is probably the best truck for towing boats or climbing. but the race runner is so stinken fast and fun also. i just dont think this carson will even come close. but like you said for the money its worth checking out. hope it comes soon from down under mate.
cheers

python fan if only u knew. The firehammer is originally a smartech/carson 1/5th buggy, which was kinda a copy of the FG forgot the name, the buggy they have, not the leapard. Then duratrax, bought the rights to it and sold it under t here company name as well. SAme with the firehammer MT, was a cheaper brand, ie carson etc, XTM brought it and distributed it under there name, duratrax did it to. The titan is a whole new machine, a few guys down here in aus have got them, and LOVE THEM, there quite reliable and strong, jump well, but parts at this time are hard to get as its just a new model, parts are still getting shipped to stores

as soon as i fired it up the rear drive shaft fell out. the on off switch is very hard to reach. steering was backwards. just a cheap pos. i'll stick with mcd or fg. kinda weird i have a 28cc 2 wheel carson and it's a pretty good truck. this one was really a bad buy.[][]

there simple, reverse the steering on the transmitter, on/off switch, LOL nearly all RCs switch is out of the way, did u go over the truck before u started it? All RTR RCs have this problem, u gotto go over the truck, little chinese peoples dont always do it right. If u did the above mentioned, which would of taken, o what an hour, u would of realised its 1 hell of a truck

Complaining about a hard to reach on/off switch and a servo being reversed??? [sm=50_50.gif] c'mon, you should always do a 'once over' on any RC if it's new to you IMO, doesn't matter if it's new or used.... the 'once over' would have probably taken care of the drive shaft issue also (-loctite-)

the problem is the drive shafts are made to short. as soon as hit a bump they fall out. this titan is far from a hell of a truck. yea it looks cool but thats it. the on/off switch is not only hard to work but almost imposible. how do you loctite a drive shaft. i'm just spoiled with the mcd's. thought i would try out a different product and once againd found a pos.

well seeing the guy i talk to has a MCD 4x4, baja 5B, bigfoot, and this truggy, his favourite so far is the truggy, the driveshaft issue he never had though, u must of got a dud, hes replaced the 28cc with a Zenoah 29 and this thing flat out hauls ass, its so controlable in the air and has taken huge ammounts of abuse, the only thing to break so far was the front bumper mount as he took a rather nasty nose down landing LOL.

The original vehicle was the german made FG Marder. The Carson Attack, Duratrax Firehammer, and Smartech (as well as others) are all Chinese made knockoffs of the Marder.

They're all very well built.

i own the carson attack, one of my first trucks and man its a great truck never had a problem with it. thats one of the reasons i baught the new titan devil thinking it would be the same quality. for 1200 you get what you pay for. the thing looks great but just not up to par as far as 4x4's are concerned. i'm glad to hear some one is having fun with the titan. its just hard to beat the mcd. mcd proline may cost more but with the 30.5 cc and i put the 34/30 gears reversed and the jetpro pipe. now were having fun. enjoy the hobby

the 28 has good torque, but yes it lacks quite a bit in the top end, a CY29cc motor will REALLY liven it up
