RE: what to choose
The bloke at the hobby shop said dont bother with the LRP Z.28R Spec 3 go for a RB 928 or a navorossi he reckons they are so much better and you will have better torque and top speeds. but from what i have heard the LRP Z.28R Spec 3 is the way to go

RE: what to choose
I bashed with a guy recently with a Nova 8-port. Had a bad crash, cracked the casing. Replacing just the engine casing cost more than a whole new Axial - so he sold off the internals and just got an Axial.
Those Italian engines I'm sure are awesome, but they just don't make sense for bashing IMO unless you've got really deep pockets..
And in any case, NEVER go by what the bloke at the LHS says. He just wants to sell you something - no surprise that the RB costs twice as much as the LRP...
Get the LRP dude - it's what I would get if I needed a new engine based on what lots and lots of people have said... A Picco 28 might be an ever so slight step up, but still under 200 bucks...

no surprise that the RB and nova were the LHS guys top choices, they're two of the most expensive engine makers there are (given also two of the best if your racing and need that little extra)

So far I'm loving the Mach 427 in my LST2.. But the Spec 3 is simply supposed to be THE upgrade engine for it..

I vote for the spec 3 also. I have heard nothing but good things about this engine like easy to tune and fast. I have never heard of the dynamite engine but costs $240 for the platinum version. The spec 3 is only around $170.
