ok guys my buddy just toasted his savage 21 mill. he wants to get an engine today. the engines that are in the city right now are as follows:
-Orion Wasp 28
-Ofna Force 32
-Xtm 28 427
-Lrp 28 spec 3

now heres my delimma. do i want him to get a sweet mill or do i want him to get a meteocre mill that my stock aft will keep up with?
his truck is juat a basher prolly will never see a track.
so if you were to be buying an engine and these were your only choices which one would it be and why? also and bad things about any other mills?

i told him to get an axial 28 but he wants a mill today so he won't wait!

really i just want him to get a nice mill.

xtm 28, easy to tune and holds it forever. i have 2 and for the price and power you cant beat it.

LRP .28 spec 3 is one of the best engines you can get.

Out of those its definitely between the LRP Spec 3 Z.28R and the XTM 427 .28 engine[8D]

i personally think the LRP Z.28 spec 3 is the best choice there, cant beat the value for money you get with the LRP.

I think they are basically the same motor [sm=50_50.gif] (except for cosmetics) - both SH motors, 8 ports, both .28's.... and I'm pretty sure I've read that they're the same mill (same port work etc.).

I voted LRP Spec 3.... the XTM is also a great motor, though.

Well I'm the buddy that s10eater is speaking of. We ended up coming across both the Axial 28 and the 32. Because I saw a lot more hype over the Axial than the Spec 3, I went for the Axial 28. The 32 is more then I need plus it was over budget.

You can see my other thread about this in the HPI section - [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_6320605/tm.htm]Other thread.[/link]

Thanks for the input though!

P.S. I tease him and say I left the Axial 32 for him to get one day and out-run mine.

i voted the lrp spec 3, the xtm 457 is the same as the lrp spec 2. in the losi forum, 2dmaxlst did a huge review on it and there identical. and they do perform nice!

but i would get the axial .28, its a little less power then the lrp, but is a insane motor for the price.
