Default Tmaxx doesn't like to go slow?

I've heard it said that the tmaxx doesn't like to go slow because of clutch problems. I'm thinking seriously about getting one. I would like to do rock climbing and that sorta stuff. Can this problem be eliminated with upgrade and aftermarket parts?

Thanks,

Joe

I would think with a 3 shoe clutch it would eliminate a lot of the skipping problems. Can't tell you for sure because I am still running the stock one....

I know the clutch that causes the problem is in the transmition, not the engine mounted one. But I dont know if a forward only trans conversion would fix the problem.

For rock climbing the Emaxx might be very good. It is direct drive and the 550 motors are really strong with a lot of torque.

I have seen a lot of the crawlers be electric. I can't remember ever seeing a nitro crawler. If you want a crawler, maybe look into a txt-1, or even an e-maxx will be decent. You won't get the articulation and travel from an e-maxx that you would get from a txt-1....

if you want a rock crawler dont get a tmaxx. get an x-factor, txt-1 or a clod. If you must use the maxx, lock the diffs up solid(no heavy grease stuff, glue), remove the sway bars, soften the shocks way up(5-10wt) and either remove one spring from each arm or get 2 softer ones. You also need a real good clutch and get rid of reverse, you wont need it anyway.
