The RCCA websit has videos of it running through the woods it doesn't look to impressive in the speed department but maybe they will change the engine before it comes out.

It doesn't look fast because 1. It's hard to film a truck on LOW RESOLUTION for a computer website and have it not be blurry. If they ran it at top speed you'd never see it.

2. They are off roading it in the video. That means slow speeds and planning jumps, corners, etc. They are running around trees and big berms. GOOD drivers don't hammer the throttle all the time and then watch the truck flip, roll and break everytime it's run. Off roading well requires precision driving.

3. It will be fast when it's realeased. Do you really think that they would release a truck that would do less than 35mph or so when all the trucks out right now do at least that speed? Get real.

4. They wanted to demonstrate the suspension travel and handling of obstacles. If they would have nailed the gas all the time you wouldn't have seen the suspension work at all.

i agree, it has a .26 in it, with a 2 speed. this thing is easily going to go 40, if not 45, and i wouldnt rule out 50.

Exactly Casey. There is no way in H- E- DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS that this truck will be slow by any means.

A company that can win Nationals and Worlds races won't be releasing a junky slow truck.

Are we still talking about the MGT here? If so, according to AE's web site, it wil have a Thunder Tiger .21 engine. It supposed to weight 12 lbs, no feather weight for sure. Not all the MT's are doing 35+, some of them won't even do 35. As far as the MGT doing 40+, I just don't see it. Too much weight and not enough engine.

I wasn't trying to suggest the MGT was a bad truck.I wouldn't expect AE to put out anything thats not up to par with the rest of the pack.I was comparing what I saw in the video to what i've seen a t-maxx do in the same scenario because lets face it.....EVERY MT WILL be compared to a maxx. The T=maxx set the standard for what we all consider a monster truck to be,plane and simple. If there was no t-maxx there probably wouldn't be such great trucks as there are today. The AE truck looks sweet and it looks like it handles very well but that video has been on that site for a few months and god only knows what they have changed since then.If they put a big block in the truck and a 2speed I don't doubt the MGT will do 40-45 if it only weighs 12 lbs.The t-maxx weighs about the same and it does at least 40.If the SAVAGE wouldn't have been so heavy it would probably done at 40 too.Casey says it will have a .26 in it and grampi says the AE site says .21 so basically we don't no and will all have to wait and see.I personely can't wait!!!!
