Can someone help me with my "hopefully" small problem. I'm not sure but I think I might have messed up the tranny or maybe something got loose in there. When I turn on my Savage and try to run it, it hardly goes anywhere about 2mph when I'm at half throttle. The engine sounds fine and the spur gear turns. If I pick it up than give it throttle it seems to be working fine, the tires spin normally. As soon as I put it on the ground I'm back to the same problem. Has anyone had similiar problems and if so what did you do to fix it.

Could it be the hubs are stripped?

The wheel hubs look good. They have the pins and are set up correctly.

Check the slipper clutch, may be too loose. Tighten all the way in, then 1/4 turn back.

Actually, is this a new savage? Word is that the one way bearing in the tranny has a problem (they switched to a new bearing with the latest batch and this issue is becoming common).

Call HPI, they'll tell you how to identify if you've got the bad bearing and if you do, they'll replace it for ya.
