Anyone Own a RT-X 27?

RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27?
Like I said...
The best fix for the tank is to use a small drill bit and hone down the hinge hole where it attaches making sure the cap seats flush, use some fuel tubing to get better closure over the springs. If you water test it and no air bubbles are there, it solves alot of the lean out problems. Time your fuel consumption and top off when you get low...Later..Mess
If you want..try a Losi "clunk" style tank... may have to mod it from an LST or other model...

RE: Anyone Own a RT-X 27?
Im fairly new to nitro trucks and i bought a rtx a couple weeks back. I broke it in exactly as the manual says to do so. I had ran approx 5 tanks through it when it stalled mid-driving... I tried to start it but the engine would not turn at all. I noticed the quick-start was loose and missing a couple screws. i thought that it could be the reason. I pulled the engine and tore it apart, There were a couple little pieces of metal stuck in the groove beneath the piston - preventing it from moving. I have no idea where or what they came from but i removed them, put the engine back together and set it back at factory setup. It starts and runs good, the only problem is it goes through glow plugs really fast. and by really fast i mean i went through 3 in a 10 minute period. Any ideas?

Not recomended... dont use automotive lubricants in RC, they have chemichals that act as anti rust and these RC trucks´ seals wont hold with this additives... they get distroyed.
The principle goes like this.... thinner oil = more steering and turning sharpness... better responsiveness
thicker oil = better straight forward acceleration and out of corners kick
grease = locks the diff and makes the car really hard to drive (if diff gets almost full)
If you only light coat the gears with grease it will work just like thinner oils... remember diffs should be filled without leaving air inside of them. This isnt a very easy zone to tune but once you find the sweet spot for your ride and likeness then you are all done. Handling improves just awesome. The bad thing is that the diffs in this truck is a real PITA to get to... in other trucks and buggies it just takes like 5 mins to change oil in the diffs.
good luck and if you have any questions just ask.
