Default suggestions for internal cleanliness..

Hello there folks, big problems this weekend destroying the most insane BMX course I have ever seen in my area..6' to 7' smooth take off ramps/edges..MONSTER TRUCK HEAVEN..nuff said..

Purpose of thread..slight accident, rear half shafts..kaplooee!!
LSN assembly popped out, lost spring truck went like bat out of hell...remove head, piston top looks a little dark, but with patience and some qtips + denatured, top is looking almost new again..my unfortunate after thought....did I just majorly screw up??ask the folks at RCU..landshark, grampi, someone will know

was it a mistake to clean the top of piston with denatured? I then hit ti with good ol WD40 and crank it sounds good??

while I have a thread going...big topic here (very heated), so I am just asking opinions

My radio was responsive but when the assembly popped out it was revving like mad, failsafe could not have helped me here, but..here goes...would a throttle return spring setup have helped my engine to at least not go WOT until I can rescue it??

set up a return spring and hold throttle wide open and shut off either tx or rec to make sure throttle closes spray brake cleaner is an excellent cleaner it will dissolve oil and other junk and evaporate dry in few seconds just spray with wd40 or after run after cleaning

Hey, I live in Miami too. I've recently been going to Miami R/C Raceway on US1 & s.w. 216th st. in south dade. There are a lot of 1/8 buggies and some stadium trucks but I'm one of three M/T with my T-maxx. If you guys can, why not show up this weekend so we have some one to race. They are also having a race event not this week but next week. Everyone seems real helpful and the track is awsome. Hopefully I'll see you there.

a guy at the LHS mentioned that track, we have not checked it out yet..but this weekend if we get together will be at Oleta, the guys are super anxious to do some bashing.

Is the R/C raceway like just an oval track or twisted with different levels of jumps? Cost?

I have a TMAXX also, I hang with a Savage fellow, a few MT's, Rustler and some other type of buggy looking thing...

My T-Maxx is out of commision this weekend. I sent my sleeve and piston to get resized. I have been to the track a couple of times.

They practice Saturdays from 9am to 3pm.They also have races on the 2nd and fourth Sunday of each month. I think they charge $10. There are usually three classes. 1/10 stadium trucks, 1/8th buggies and T-maxxs. They are in the process of getting lights for night races and practice.

The track is real nice. They just had a national race with people flying in from all the place a couple of months back. There are some nice jumps and the drivers stand is very high with a great view. Like Jedi said the people are nice and they help you out.

If you guys go out there, please post your findings.

You did no damage of any kind by cleaning the top of the piston. Just don't get to eager to make it shiny and use emery cloth to buff it out. Some guys have tired that and have rounded the top of the piston doing so......causing some premature wear...etc.

The track is winding with plenty of turns and jumps of different sizes. They also are talking about opening up during the week if they get lights installed. There is already electricity and running water so its only a matter of time. As for cost they charge $10 unless its a scheduled event like the one set for the 3rd & 4th of May. That race entry fee is $30. Maybe you guys can make it down for the T-maxx class. Savages are also eligible in this class. I'll see if I can get a flyer posted with some more info.
