Default stampede problems

hey, today I was running my stampede VXL on the road and after using full throttle the trucks ESC would be blinking red and run at half speed. I don't know why it's doing this? Oh and I'm using the stock gears with a three cell 4000 MAH battery. any help would be appreciated, Thanks

It's likely that your low voltage detection is switched on. This is a safety feature used to prevent Lipo batteries from over-discharging. If your ESC light was solid green before the flashing and half speed started happening, then detection was on, and isn't necessary (or recommended) for Nicad/Nimh batteries. To turn this feature off : Turn on transmitter. Then "tap" and release ESC button to turn it on. Before the ESC gets a chance to start blinking again press and hold ESC button for ten seconds until you hear a sound from your motor indicating low voltage detection is now off. Verify detection is off by checking to see that the ESC light is solid red - no flashing. Hope this solves your issue. The Stampede VXL is a blast.

Your tight on! But I have to say it sounds like he is running Lipo since he said 3 cell. So I would not turn off the protection. When it goes to 1/2 throttle its time to charge the battery or you may/will ruin it.

True, I missed that in the post. Yeah, time to recharge. Don't ruin the pack by switching detection off. They are too expensive to take the risk. Thanks farknben for pointing that out. My mistake.
