You musta watched it on TV cause there was no race Sun. And they usually televize about 3 weeks after the race. So you musta saw the Pomona Fairplex race in L.A. ( April 26&27 ) I was at that race. You mighta saw me about 8 rows up from the finish line double fisting $9 beers. Its fun watching them but even more amazing when you can feel them in your chest as a few rip by fighting for first. Thanks for your interest in my build. Keep ya posted for sure.

HARDCORR gets DUAL BRAKES. Tore my Savage tranny apart just to cut out the brake section. It'll be mounted opposite side of tranny for dual brakes. The angle of the caliper looks good like this and brings the levers in line. I'll be posting the reverse module in the market . The 457's got clutches and 14tp. Ball joints from McMaster-CArr for rear control arms

I't been a month since my last post. Been collecting parts and tools too. Picked up an Oxy/Acc kit and started brazing up a Model cage. This will be used to help make the real cage out of thicker tube. I'll also have to weld up an engine mount and to lengthen the rear axcel.

Parts I,ve collected so far
RC4WD MadForce rear and Punisher Drive shaft.
Baja 5b rear shocks.
McMaster-Carr ball joints for rear suspension links.
Savage 3 speed tranny with savage x dual brakes.
Losi reciever boxs
Twin XTM 457's with TigerDrives ( not pictured )
Xtm monster buggy Air filter with costum air box.
Integy's Savage type 2 servo saver steering block just came today.
Traxxas Monster buggy front shocks
and the entire front end of my savage.
Oh ya...and the VS ModelSports ST body.

On the tranny I cut out the area that holds the brake caliper from an old tranny and will attach it to the opposite side with stock brakes to become triple disc brake. Of coarse later this could be bumped up to quad brakes.

Now for some pics.

Is that an actual filter or is that a K&N style air filter?

If it's not an oiled filter, you might want to reconsider that before you suck all sorts of lovely garbage into your engines. I'm just asking cause it looks likt he K&N filters I've seen.

i agree, but it looks like its just for show, but if not, i would use a giga crusher hood scoop filter so it will give you the look you want but is the proper filter for these cars/engines.

Ya it's oiled. The air box is my creation. Inside will have a secondary filter.....your standard sticky goo nitro filter. Two tubes will come off the box routed to each engine. If anything ever does make it past I'll just throw a prefilter sock on it. I've read that some guys don't like the k&n so thats why I'll be running a 2 stage. At $160 ea. engine, I'll be taking the up most care with these things.

The Giga does look cool but is not the look I want. It looks like a supercharger intake which CORR does not run superchargers. Not only that but I will never run KYOSHO anything. The company makes it difficult to locate parts even on there own sights and shops never seem to carry there products.

That's looking great dude, can't wait to see the finished artical. The Trophy trucks do look the biz, especially the Asgard shell,i'll be whacking one of the shells on my 1/5 scale when I get it at some point. The Gigacrusher scoop is good and works a treat,I have one on my Hot Bodies GTX2 and its great but deffo wouldn't look good on the truck your creating and it'd be out of scale too....

Well, the thing is, the K&N isn't really a fine enough filter for our little engines. On a full size vehicle, it can pass the kind of garbage that gets through, but our stuff is too small and too tight of a tolerance. It'll run a like a bat outta hades form the air flow, but it'll be much more likely to suck down something nasty.

Engines and tranny will bolt to 3mm aluminum plate that I cut to size the other day. Plate will mount into steal frame work I've been working on. Cage will be welded to frame. Leaving town for the weekend so ...tune in next week

i agree with infernal stone........stay away from K and N air filters in nitro engines. They let in so much dust your engines will be toast in no time!

Too late. I appreciate the input but this filter is going into the rig regardless. The air box that is attached to the filter will house a secondary nitro filter with all the stick goo stuff. Think of the K&N as a prefilter. It's gunna work out fine. Thank you guys, though. With out these comments I'd never have come up with the secondary idea.
