since AMS hobbies in Reno is your only choice for local support I would go there (wells avenue, home of porno stores and topless bars) and see what truck they carry the most replacement parts for. After all, if you are having fun with your truck your going to bust some stuff. Get the truck they support, at least you know you can get it fixed without waiting for mail order parts. If at all possible deal with the young guy John, Dealing with the owner Arnold will only lead to frustration after a while. Stan www.1stplacerace.com

i have had problems with both of savage and terra crusher i dont have knowledge about xtm..but i recomend savage because of speed and good for jumping..xtm looks weak to me..ask bonefrost he got a xtm few weeks ago if i am not mistaken..savage although sometimes it makes me pull for minutes before it starts i still love it..any mt u pick you would experience different problems..try comparing them at the lhs see which one would catch your attention first and the one that you cant let go..then most likely youll buy the one that you cant let go

You guys read r/c mag too much and should drive your MT instead. Race season started and it is so much fun !
Btw, don't really care at RCMT ranking because I strongly disagree with it, all I know is that I have a lot of fun with my Sav...
And I see so many T-Maxx nazi down here that it would be a lost cause to try to argue
To each his own MT & Peace on earth.
I almost forgot that I'll be all ready to race with you Clizoman , here is a small pic of my Savage C5 (muds on it prove that it has been raced hard)

And I can tell you as well that I have done real world races with many MT, including new T-Maxx 2, both stock and with Sirio...

Guess who's is the fastest around the track and @ the end of the straight ?
Cheers

depends on the track, the drivers, the condition of hte ground that day, etc etc etc etc.
race a savage vs, t-maxx on fast track with long straights and the maxx has the advantage, race on a tight track with rough jumps and lots of bump then it shifts towards the savage.
drop a sirio .18 in the maxx and it will leave the savage behind, drop a picco .26 in the savage and the stock maxx is left at the line.
race both the sirio .18 maxx vs. picco .26 savage. well I still havent seen any hard evidence for either one. so who knows.
both trucks do what they do best. its just they happen to do diffrent things better.

At the novice level I dont think it matters, and For all of us who spend tons of cash or race nationaly any of the maxx enspired trucks can be tweaked to race competively. The pro line maxx challenge pro class was won by OFNA driver Paul Coleman with a modified OFNA dominator. and Wrongway, Im sorry your post turned into this debate, not much help with the whole XTM issue, If you want to race dont buy the XTM, If you want to bash around, get whatever you want. Just realize that as with any nitro vehicle, make sure you enjoy working and wrenching on it as much as you do driving it.... Stan www.1stplacerace.com
