Default Nice tmaxx shock tower modification

I recently bought a new 2.5 and have always hated having to tighten eight screws on the shock towers. This time I drilled through the tower at each shock mounting point and ran one long screw through both sides and put on a lock washer and nut. ran all day today without a problem. Anyone have another fix like that they could share.

Glad to hear it. I only wish I could get the nuts with nylon inside at my local hardware store. Any thought on the tranny and chassis brace srews? mine always strip right off the bat the first time I remove and reinstall them.

Default I have tanken my trans off about 8 times,

And so far gotten lucky! But, I have seen a kit on Ebay that fixes this problem. Type in Transmission in the search box and it will come up. I am thinking of buying one just in case! P.S. You can get those nuts at the hardware store. I got some at Menards 3mm and 4mm.

I'll check it out. I just sold a aluminum tranny case that solved the problem and it only weighed 97 pounds!!!

Default I know what you mean!

I have 2 Maxx's and one of them is 80% aluminum and it weighs way too much and my other one only had aluminum chassis braces and it is muck lighter! I do like the look of the overweight T-Maxx though!

Default The one I am working on,

Will be a lot lighter then that one and it will have the 2.5 bulks and arms for the wider and better handling stance! It is going to ripp!
