Default Ebay Scam Artist---BEWARE!

Check this out. This is a STOCK tmaxx with the execption of the spool and body. I emailed this guy suspecting this was a scam and told him that I've never seen a rc vehicle before (to make it sound like I was new) and was wondering what the t-maxx's go for NIB because I wanted to know if I should buy his or just buy a new one. This guy emailed me back and said that they are "easily $900 new." Just wanted to spread the word to watch out for this guy. I guess the link isn't working, but you can type in ebay# 3131550463 in the search field on ebay to see the truck.

That auction is already at $750

If you look close the rear wheels in the pic are backwards. What is so special that makes it already at $750?

Nothing makes it special...That is my point...It's a used t-maxx with the only mod being a spool in the rear. I think this guy made the bids himself to make it look like people were bidding on it. I mean, I already know he's a liar because he told me NIB t-maxx's were "at least $900".

That is insane. I have 2 TMaxx 2.5's I paid $425 each for them NIB at my LHS not including batteries and fuel. I paid more than mail order, but it was worth it to me.

So I got 2 for less money than what he says 1 cost. :P

I looked at the auction again and just can't believe that those are real bids. They have to be him trying to jack it up.

What does a spool do for you anyway????

yeah i saw it about 10 mins before i read this topic and thought the same thing.
Its called "shill bidding". He is prolly having his friend bid on it to pump up the price. What i dont get is why he didnt stop at like $500. $500 is plenty for a used stock tmaxx in that situation.

What you do is look at the list of current bidders, then look at the sellers feedback.
Once your at his feedback thumb through his past auctions and see if you see the same guy bidding on the Tmaxx biddig on old auctions. If you see the "X" bidder, bidding a lot but not winning then you know its a fact.

Default Nothing!

That thing was junk! I am only asking $550 for a much better truck with tons of aftermarket parts on and it only has 8 tanks ran through it and I have not gotten any solid offers! As Packfan said he is having his friends bid on it to jack up the price!

Why? There is nothing wrong with the auction. If someone is stupid enough to pay $750 for a $300 truck, let them. Its not illeagal or even "shady". Its all on the up and up. Buyer beware, its that simple.

How is it shady? He put something up on an auction site and somebody bid on it. I personally dont believe for a minte those are real bids but who knows.... And just for the record, I'm the most honest, straight up guy you'll ever meet. I have many many postitve feedbacks on ebay for both buying and selling, if you want to make this a personal thing, take to email.

Default There is enough,

There is enough bad (Dead beat) bidders on Ebay as it is! Also it is illeagal to put in fake bids! Read the rules and reg's on the Ebay site! I am not saying that anyone at Ebay would do anything about it but, they should! I do a lot of business on Ebay and hate it when people try to scam others! I warn other Ebay members if it looks like they may be bidding on something that just does not look right!

It's shady because the guy LIED when I asked what a NIB t-maxx is and he said $900. That is what is shady about it. If you don't think that is shady, I wouldn't buy anything from you. Thats not making it a "personal thing" thats just using common sense.

i have a feedback rating of 210 on ebay.
ive been selling there for over two years, and i wouldnt buy somethign from this guy even if it had no bids.
his feedback sucks and he hasnt been active enough in the recent months for me.
Sure sometimes people are new, but when im sending $400 to someone i make sure they have dealt with items this expensive in the past.
In the last month ive bought a
digital camera($350)
GS Storm($335)
GS Storm ($400)
XS3 Radio($199)
Air Brush Kit($90)
Plating Kit($90)

and i was bidding on a $500 TC3 but got out bid.
and ive sold near $1000 worth of stuff in the past month.
Im some what of an eBay addict. So take it from a "pro" that this is some kind of a shaddy auction.

I did like i said in my previous post, but he has so few feedback that you cant even see if there is the same guy bidding on his stuff with out winning it. He does have some bid retractions on this item, and then the same guy bids on it again. SHADDY !!!
Dont waste your time.
