ultra copper gasket high temp rtv for engine sealing
I remember I read somewhere people saying you can seal your engine with some copper high temp RTV gaskets.
I a tube of [link=http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-81878-Sensor-Ultra-Copper/dp/B0002UEOPA/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&s=automotive&qid=1222744525&sr=1-17]Permatex 81878 #101 Sensor Safe Ultra Copper Hi Temp RTV[/link] from Walmart, the temp is up to 371 C, or 700 F. Oxygen sensor safe, non corrosive, and oil resistance. But it also says "not recommended for use on head gaskets or parts in contact with gasoline."
Is this the stuff I need to seal the engine backplate, crab, and such ?

Not sure about sealing a crab with it lol, but that's what I use for the back plates and carbs. You shouldn't use it on head gaskets. If the head gasket is leaking, get a new one.

Am I the only person that uses just normal Associated Green Slime on the carb and the backplate. I've never had a single air leak in owning many engines.

Green Slime works well, is able to be safely burned in a nitro engine and most importantly will not ruin and engine if you add just a wee bit too much.

This guy uses RTV for carb and backplate, but Green Slime for the HSN/LSN, I wonder if RTV will cause any problems on the HSN/LSN ?

You don't want to put RTV on your needles cause once you move the needles to tune your engine it will break free. Not to mention it would clog up the carb. Green slime is the best for needle o-rings.
