The aftershock is a much better truck. It's much much tougher, a lot easier to tune, comes with a much better radio, etc...
I had a T-Maxx and an E-Maxx and ended up selling both of them because they broke everytime I drove them. I then bought a Losi Raminator (same thing as Aftershock) and have yet to break anything on it. There's just no comparison in my opinion.

I vote t-maxx. Mostly because it has reverse, and I wouldn't buy a nitro without it... I guess I'm just lazy like that... Its weird some people say they break the T-maxx a Lot, and some, like me, rarely break it... I love my maxx and wouldn't give it up.. But if the losi had reverse and cost the same as a T-maxx, Id go for it because its bigger, except id get the raminator....

I bought a new LST2 trans off ebay for $25, [link=http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/146076.asp]this[/link] reverse mixer for $15 (so I could use the stock radio), and [link=http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSB0818]this[/link] servo for $17, so a total of $57. It was worth it though to have reverse plus high/low range.

Dont run into stuff and you dont need reverse
Imo the Aftershock is the best monster truck value out there, its like $330 range and is HUGE. Its probably not as fast top end as the T-maxx but its close and it handles better, is more durable, and just looks cooler. Ive had both.
