Savage gearsets
My gearset in the steering servo stripped out on me and I am going to buy a better one to replace it. However I was thinking I could swap out the gearset fronm the throttle servo into the old steering servo an use it for the throttle. Has any one ever tried this?

Savage gearsets
Not sure about the swap. I'm pretty sure they have some different gears in them. I do know that you can get the replacement gear set. I have done it already. It comes with all the gears and I only needed just one so now I have more extras as long as a different gear strips next time. 
The part is Futaba Part # FP-S9151. It was $5.39 at my LHS. Very cheap fia and I stuck it on my throttle as well after I got my Hitec for the steering. Works great. IMO, Its all thats needed for throttle/brake.
