Genesis owners... how is the engine?
im looking 2 drop the genesis .46 engine into my savage
i would like 2 no how is the overall performance of the engine and the breakin ne input is welcome THANKS |
RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
get a higher revving engine the genesis engine only revs to 22,000rpm
|
RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
i want sumthin wif torque
and i no that this egine will give me this |
RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
What happened to all the Genesises? I haven't read anything about them lately.
I would look somewhere else. Torque & nitro engines don't really go hand in hand. If I were looking for torque & willing to buy another engine I would get a .26 Wasp & Gear it down as far as I could go. Are you planning on crawling or what? |
RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
screw .46s... useless torque, fuel guzzling, and low RPMs get a SH .28 or take a risk on the new Coralli ... collari .. whatever the hell it is ... is coming out with a .30... honestly if your going bigger than a .28 in a savage... you need to do more research at the track
|
RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
actually since they run much slower in the rpm range they dont use a whole lot more
gas then a higher reving 25 or 28 does. and they have massive torque right off the bottom of the rev range. the only dislikeable thing about them to me is that they are a pain in the butt to start when you first break them in. it take dang near 35 minutes to idle through one tank of gas on those things. as for putting it in the savage, you should buy a few extra of everything in the drivetrain because you will eventually break something. good luck. |
RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
yea espically the diffs, get the 4 spider mod and CVDs
|
RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
yeh i no, i have stregthin my diffs and drive train
done the spider have all TI CVD dog bones for the centre and to the wheels have steel gears in the tranny i have beefed up everythin i just want an engine wif torque also a wasp.26 or picco.26 r racing and those engines r so last year i have considered the Sh.28 and that is my next choice cans i have heard great stuff bout it |
RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
the .247 is older than the picco and the .247 PRO has the same power low-end and better top end... so blah
|
RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
The 46 has lots o torque, lots o power.....my concern at this point...and I am a dealer.... is that I have one and a customer machine that is popping glow plugs regularly....mine every tank, regarless of needle settings..... and I can't as a dealer even get a call back from CEN or an answer to my emails....
Beginning to wonder if they are still open out there.... The answering machines are working.... but no calls are coming back. So if you are an upset customer, don't feel lonely. I cant get a answer from them as a DEALER!!! I am dropping their product line because of their lack of DEALER responsiveness....let alone other problems I have experienced with the Genesis... |
RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
Well i'm on my third .46 engine from cen but this one seams to be ok but my genny is down waiting for the new hi-tec servo so i really have not beating up on the new engine yet...
|
RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
I have a Gensis but can't tell how the motor is as I can't keep it from breaking long enought to get a good run out of it. but, CEN has been very helpfull and I get same day email responces and so far the yhave sent a LOT of free parts to replace and upgrade my truck for free. I knew there was going to be some issues getting this thing to run, but not as many as i have had. but as long as they are stick by it I am happy.

RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
I think the torque is awesome in it - I can do wheelies all day with jumbo kongs - this thing is sick! Mountains of torque!

RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
Hey all,, My Gen engine has always been reliable in starting and ALOT of compression!!! Torque is a problem because I flip my truck all-the-time and tear the back-side of my body way too easily. But that is my Genesis with my settings and my experience. I will say this about my Genesis,,, it is a monster with monster power to pull ya-around[X(] Peace,,"O"

RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
Dang JNS you sure are pissy. lol j/k;)

RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
Vintage Duff.........The .46 motor is a great basher motor if you break it in properly!! The .46 motors tend to take longer to break in than a 21, so you must be patient with your breakin process. Figure on 10-15 tanks of fuel before your .46 is completly broken-in. A person on another website put a .46 in his offroad dune buggy and is smoking everyone at his track! The Cen .46 seems to have one problem and that is rear bearing failure I would reccomend replacing the bearing in the motor with Boca Bearings.

RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
I too have heard of the bearings in the crank leaking. Is there anyone out there who may express how many tanks of fuel they ran , what temperatures thier motor maxxed out at and what carb settings they had while the bearing failed as they were running thier .46 engine?? I love BOCAbearings and they have any bearing you may need should you need it. I own a 2nd generation Genesis and I have never had any bearing leaks in my engine as of yet but I would like to hear from all who have experience with the Genesis and leaky engine bearings.. THANKS,,Peace "O"

RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
Maybe a good time to throw this out their.....
Check out a 4-stroke? 2strokes produce their max horsepower at two high of an rpm, especally if you're using it as a crawler, you will need an engine to produce all it can with minimum thorottle. With that, mini 4 bangers Are pretty fuel efficient, and they will produce the torque you need, at the rpm you want. |
RE: Genesis owners... how is the engine?
I've put about 10 tanks through my Genesis so far and haven't had any problems yet. The only thing broke on mine is the Cylinder Head, I cracked the two top rings when I flipped it onto some bricks at a very high speed. So far I love the truck.
