RE: part
also i got a little rust on the dog bones and the diffs. do i need to replace them or will they be fine
|
RE: part
give you truck a good clean then cover it with WD40, this will displace moisture and prevent rust, dont worry about the odd bit of rust here and there, as long as its not to bad and it doesnt effect how your truck works then you dont need to replace the parts

RE: part
OIL!!!!! Clean/touch them up with an sos pad. Get all the"crud" off of them. It's not full blown rust yet, just tarnish. Take some motor oil, or some gun polishing oil and a paper towel, pour the oil (2-3oz. maybe) in a bowl. If you don't wanna get your hands oily, put gloves on. Dip the paper towel in the oil and polish all your steel parts that can rust up like that. The paper towel will evenly absorb and evenly distribute the oil. For your driveline joints, get a cu-tip and oil to the best of your ability. ALSO, if you use the oil on your plastic, it will look TWICE AS GOOD AS ARMOR ALL AND LAST TWICE AS LONG!!!! Makes it looks better than when it was new. I oil my E-maxx after every run. It stays shiny. If my buddies didn't see me run it, they would sware I never did... The oil should protect from any future tarnish/rust. Just re-apply after ever so many runs depending on what you romp through in the run. If you run through snow, then you will need to re-apply after every run. Just dirt? Then wipe off the dirt and see for yourself whether it needs more. DOOOOOOO ETTTT!!!!!! Lemme know how it turns out. :my2c:

RE: part
Snow = Water
Water + Steel = Rust Oil + Steel = Rust Protection Oil & Water don't mix (everyone knows that). However, the snow mixed with the salt is nothing but bad news for the steel drivelines. Peace::::: |
RE: part
or do it the easy way and get a can of WD40 and spray it on
|
RE: part
WD40 was also a good idea. However, it will need to be applied repeatedly. Wheras the oil could last you a few runs (depending) like I said above.

RE: part
