Tractor pull sled.
I want one... thing is I dont want to spend a fortune on it.
so I want to build one. but got a few questions. figure a full size one pulls what? 300 feet? so scale it down to about 30 feet? (it will be for MTs like savage/tmaxx so I figure 1/10th is good enough.) also what ratio does a full sized one raise the "box" at. ie when does the box hit the front of the sled. half way? 2/3s? does anyone have one that they can take pics of so I can get details? searching online only gets me a bunch of clubs, not details. thanks in advance. |
RE: Tractor pull sled.
YOU NEED THE BOX TO REACH THE TOP OF THE SLED AT 30 FEET, CONSIDER KEEPING THE SPOOL LEVEL AND CHANGING YOUR WHEELS

Hi
I hope these pictures help you out, and here is some extra information. It's built entirely from 6061 aluminum has T-Maxx stock tires and wheels for ultimate traction, a movable skid plate & axle walking beams to accommodate slightly uneven ground. It measures a whopping 52" long x 11" wide x 12" high has #25 steel roller chain with steel sprockets. |

The wieght is pulled forward with the rotation of the front axle by a string ran though a pulley at the front. I haven't hooked it to a truck yet because of the weather (cold & wet). But it works pulling it by hand. Here's a link to a tread where we are talking about it. http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3763146/tm.htm |
