Have you taken an engine apart before? I would completely disassemble it, clean it to make sure no grime or dirt got inside the engine. Put it back together. Make sure you seal the carb and backplate. That's that I would do at least.

RE: THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
do you still have the pinch bolt?there is a reason the carb fell off, kind of important you know why and rectify that problem.then yes as stated above tear ut down, spray it out with the cleaner of your choice, then re assemble sealing the carb neck and back plate with high temp copper rtv

Don't take this the wrong way, but you probably need to take a litttle more time with maintanence and cleaning when it comes to your vehicles. You have to periodically check your vehicles for loose screws, stripped wires, broken parts before and after you run. These cars and trucks take amazing amounts of abuse, but will not last without some care and effort on your part. After I take my vehicles out I always clean them, check for broken parts, empty the fuel tank, use after-run oil, etc. Nothing is more frustrating then wanting to go out and bash your vehicle only to realize it won't start because you had broken a part or lost a screw last time you ran it and didn't notice. It's happened to me. Just spend a little more time maintaining your vehicles and you'll be alot happier. Again, I'm not trying to put you down, just offering a litttle constructive criticism.

RE: THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
^agreed, after every heavy session i go thru and check screws, retighten, check for cracks, all it takes is to nose it into the ground one time and you will be amazed at how many screws work loose

eh, it was ment in humor dude, l was not serial ! hahaha serious.
l own a savy as well mate, lve had 1 beer today so far, l was kidding, but in anycase, heres a better idea, quote ''i did check everything and now the carb wont even tighten up. '' end quote, , have you stripped the thread ? Get a new bolt, l cant remember of me head if the bolt goes right through on it, mines in the shed, me lazy to walk out there into rain to have a look, anyways new bolt n nut if so. Tighten carby or it'll leak air into bottom end, if all else fails, get some glue ! |
