I broke mine during break in.

I purchased a hitech 945MG high torque servo, which turn s the wheels while the truck sits still. Then i went to my LHS and bought replacement gears for my steering servo , repaired it and am now running it as my throttle/brake servo.

Also there are alot of other threads out there regarding this problem. Its a major weekness in the savage. But one that can be repaired for a $50.00

i stripped mine out within2 days...bought hitech 645....wasn't impressed...has metal gears but not very strong for a supposed 133 oz @ 6 volts. They tired to sell me a $137 servo but i went with the hi tech because metal gears and had good specs. Iwas orig gonna get the hi-tec 625 has better spec but tried to save $20. Like to hear anyones thoughts on the 625 if they have experience with it.

i realized after i put it in i had it backwards...all i did was put the control in reverse mode. Will it creat more torque if i pull it out anf turn it around? The wheels fade bad at high speed.

Actually now that i think about it... i didnt put it in backwards (cant do that cause arm wouldnt reach) So why do the stock savage servo come set the other way and in reverse setting? Im a little boggled..or doesnt it matter which way the servo turns naturally?

I run an Airtronics 94358Z and haven't had any issues with it...especially after I replaced the servo saver with something stronger.
I've run probably 2 gallons worth of bashing with this servo installed.

i got the digital version of the 645. for $50 it was a great buy. it has something like 168oz at 6v. it turns the wheels while on the ground..even on carpet. check it out at servocity.com free shipping in the US too.

I see what you mean. I would have thought the digitals would have been faster (5645). This one looks cool though http://www.servocity.com/ServoCity/P...coreless.html. Almost the same speed as the 945 your using. What did you use for the throttle?
