Default BRAKES

Just got into these bikes and sure could use some help. I picked up a used TT electric Ducati, I was wondering.

- this bike came with the front brake hopup kit. It's not hooked up. Can anyone tell me how to hook up the braking wire? does it connect to the other side of the servo horn?

- How freely should the rear wheel spin when I pick it up off the ground. It spins real nice without the pinon meshed next to it. But, when I mesh the pinion of the motor next to the drive gear it's pretty stiff. The wheel won't even make one full turn if I spin it. The bike came with a modded motor in it.

- What slows the bike down I noticed there are no brakes unless I hook up the front disk. Is this why there is soo much drag on the rear wheel when I mesh the motor pinion to the drive gear?

I really appreciate everyones help

Default RE: BRAKES

If you've got the TT front brake, you'll need the nitro bike front wheel with the grooves for the brake rotor.

On an electric bike you'll need a separate servo for the brake, use a "Y" lead if you can't mix a third channel in to the throttle.

The rear wheel will feel stiff to turn if you're using a brushed motor,it's the drag of the magnets, but make sure it spins freely before setting the gear mesh.
The ESC should provide dynamic braking when you apply your brakes with the TX.,most TX's have an adjustable end point to set how much braking you want.

The stock class in the UK doesn't allow front brakes and lap times are very close to Superbike times and usually faster than nitro bikes.
