Its mounted up the same way. Some diffrences like my sevo is 90* off of yours. Kinda blurry, but the best angle i have to show how its mounted.

773W: 30-wt, of pretty much any manufacturer, isn't thick enough for the TT damper. I start off with 500 CPS oil (equiv of about AE, Losi, or Trinity 40), and make sure the damper is bled properly, that is, when the shaft is fully compressed, it does no rebound out due to air lock.

Thanks, I do have it set up properly and bled right. I Kinda knew it was the thin oil's fault. Good thing I have alot of time to work it out during the winter!
Are there any big diffrences between the two systems?? Damper vs double spring mod??

I woulnd say it is the proper way, but it is my way.Im sure I'v seen pics of guys running with two dampers on, but Im going to give some thicker oil in mine a chance before I get another. I would think that it work the same on the right as it does on the left.

The TT one-piece damper really is a version of a two-spring setup, but with shorter springs in one unit (one spring outside the shock body, the other spring under the piston inside the body). My TT-based bikes, as well as my FPM 4-stroke bike like the TT damper, while my KP Black Shadow likes to have a longer dual-spring rod on one side and a separate damper (old OFNA one from a touring car I had laying around from 1999) on the other side.

So Im guessing that one damper will be enough, once i get oil thickness corect? Sounds like you have quite the colection there, would love to see a couple of those bikes......

2 x DRP electrics (FM1e-based)
KP07 Black Shadow
2 x Kyosho HORs

I actually went back to the stock fuel tubing set-up after trying one steering damper on the left side. For the life of me it just didnt "feel" the same to me. I even tried 1000wt gear diff oil.
In the pic above with the home made spring set-up on the servo horn, I can see that he used what looks like an Ofna 1/8th offroad throttle linkage kit to get the springs, and slider piece on the horn. Shouldnt be any more than $10 for the kit, might have to give that a try.

I like the damper. Not sure why, not like i now the diffrences bettween all thats out there. Im gona stick with it for now and see how the thicker oil treats me, It is always possible to run with another damper, that would be like the double spring mod .

Can anyone tell if changing the rider, nylon vs lexan, will make a difference in how the bike handles?? Im sure the weight difrence matters some how.

I have the damper on the left side on mine with 40 weight oil and a homemade rod and spring on the right side.. I copied TT setup from a friend... It works so much better than a single shock and 100 times better than the rubber tubing.. The rubber tubing made the bike steer like it was jello... the single shock had too much rebound and not enough holding power.. with the dual setup, wherever I point it, it goes and holds the line well, even in ruts.. I've had a few too many endo's with the other setups... total cost less than $20... Also, if you haven't already, change out the front and rear tirer.. the stock ones are too hard.. the front has a point on it, for what purpose, I don't know, went with an Flm1 tire and the rear is off the TTD nitro... what a difference that made...

New tires were on my very first order for new hop ups , Ya, what a difrence that made. I change dthe rims to for no reason other then I liked the way they look. I noticed that when I switched them out , the stock tires werent glued to the rims!!?? I went a head and glued up my new ones, not sure if it was needed, but it felt like the right thing to do at the time....

Here is my TTE mod with the original spring and shock setup.. I used a bit heavier oil in this one.. I think somewhere close to 40-45wt, but have since switched to twin dampers and a digital servo with 2.4GHZ spektrum radio.. I wanted rock hard steering with no wobble and tight feel.... If you shock is leaking, check the O rings.. they are probably nicked or worn out... If leaking from the top, check the bladder isn't torn...

Glad that helped... I had alot of advice from my friends and people on the forums for those mods.. the second damper works even better and the digital servo will allow the bike to track better.. the analog servo's don't center very well...
