Default DuraTrax 1/5 DX450 Brushless On/Off-Road Motorcycle

Looks like Duratrax is releasing the M5 under their name in the US. Added a brushless set up for about $349.99 according to my LHS and Tower.

I think I would have more fun with this than my TTe Duc.

Looking at this bike as well... Might be something fun just to mess around with... I have a Brushless TTE now and want something I can bring/run with my other trucks while bashing...Looking at the video it looks pretty good.. not a big fan of duratrax, but like everything else the shortcomings can be made better...

I think that it is much better than what is out there for the price. What elese is there, a Radioshack Ricky Carmichale which is pretty tame, or a ARXwhich is like $800. This looks promising at least. It would probably be pretty cool if they put out some paddle tires for riding at places like glamis.

I am sure there will be aftermarket stuff
I am going to say that this is not that great right now but in the future it will be.

thanks Muck... maybe I'll pick one up around the holidays.. I'm still torn between another Helicopter for the fleet or another bike... this bike looks too cool to pass up.. I wish it came without the radio or electronics as I don't need them and will only replace them anyway.. but for the price, its not bad...

I have to say I own 1 duratrax item and they have there weak points like any but its nothing that can't be handled.
My wife has a Vendetta and thats what she started driving with.
It has been pretty good and drives like a mini truggy and being an old truggy racer I love it.
After 20 + years at this I will buy one of these when I get the chance I have loved dirt bikes since I was a kid and still do.

I'm interested in seeing how this pans out. Have been waiting for a dirtbike since I started but am alittle skeptic after the radio shack RC bike. Would like to see this thing blow up and have a big aftermarket for it.
Only time will tell.....

the only thing that I can see is the front forks are going to need upgraded to something more then friction
other then that this thing looks pretty solid
I talked to a guy who saw them at the latest hobby expo and he said it looked cool

With a big fat 6000mah 7.4 lipo it seems pretty quick. Not blistering fast. But fast enough to be entertaining

I got my mitts on one of these today...almost took it home, it looks good, alum frame, full size servo, DSM radio, the front shocks are kinda iffy..just a sping in a plastic tube, but all the heft is in the rear, I may pick one up next week and put it in the dirt.

This bike is a blast. If your into RC bikes and don't get one of these your missing allot of fun.
A few simple mods and this bike is even better.
DuraTrax gets 5 stars on this one for sure.

Can you give us some radar numbers...if you can be the first to post up some youtube speed run tests using the stock motor but different battery packs I know that's asking alot but if you can please by all means do so. Thanks

I posted elsewhere GPS speeds with 2s lipo 4000 mah was 29.8 mph and 33.9 mph with 3s lipo 2200mah. The bike was stock with fully stock gyro.
Head shake was extremely bad and never got smooth once it reach top speed with either pack. Still have to try and fix this.
Mods have been made since, I'll GPS it again now that the gyro has been modified.

I did not do anything to the gyro I donot have an DX450 Micro Dan has one . But some have taken out the gyro weights and screws inside the back wheel. I guess it gives more speed and smooth's out the ride almost like an on road racer. But talk to Micro Dan for GOOD SOLID INFO ON THIS
