OK Kyosho fans,
After having Kyosho rc motos since 1993, I learned a lot from them.
One the THE biggest annoyances is the lower cowl dragging and falling off!!! Argh >
Because of this, most club racers run without it!
I hate running without it cause it ruins the scale look for me!!
(see images)
I have found THE solution to the issue. After looking at the height of the cowl, and looking at images of real race bikes, I saw that the front of the scale cowl is lower than the rear. Referencing the Suzuki cowling, I cut the bottom front of the lower cowl using a Dremel, so that the bottom of thelower cowl is level with the ground. I bonded in a piece of styrene plastic, sanded it and painted it.
The white cowl is a Honda uncut cowl for reference. See comparison images to show the height of the front of the cowl after modding.
The ONLY time the cowl is dragged now is when I crash (LOL).
Hope this tip helps!

Update!
I spent about 2 hours driving on Sunday, which included a few high speed crashes. Aside from the riders arms snapping off at the elbows (yes the crashes were THAT hard and spectacular), the cowl STILL stayed on. The only damage was that my rider had some SERIOUS road rash, which I healed with a little Testors paint. Also one of the crash bars got a little tweaked (also a testament to how spectacular the crashes were).
