I have an old Kyosho Sandmaster ST-2 that I thought I'd blow the dust off and fire up over the weekend. I put in a fresh new tank of 20% Nitro fuel for trucks and cars, checked the glow plug and it glows a bright orange. The compression in the engine is good, I closed the needle and then opened it 2 1/2 turns, and this thing simply will not start. With the glow plug igniter pulled off, I placed my thumb over the exhaust and pulled the starter a few times to pull fuel into the engine, I primed the engine, and still...nothing!
Can anyone here tell me what I'm doing wrong (or should be doing)
Any help will be appreciated!

You're probably not priming it enough. The needle may need to be opened further as well. If after you prime it and it won't start, pull the glow plug and look at it. If it's bone dry, it's not primed enough.

if it was sitting for a long time the low and high needles may be clogged. You need to hook up a line into some alcohol, crank it to run the alcohol through the engine. not trying to ignite it, NO GLOW PLUG OR GLOW IGNITER ATTACHED!!! do that for a few minutes. this will help to eat away at any gunky deposits. Then allow the alcohol to dry away, make sure you then put about 5 or 6 drops of afterrun oil in the cylinder to lubricate it. then hook up the fuel line again, prime it and try again. Sometimes a little deposit removal is what you need. Also check your fuel lines to be sure they have not cracked and need replacing.
