hi im new here and was looking at getting a nitro evader st. i want to know if it will keep up with a rustler 2.5 cuz thats what my friend just got. i aslo wanted to know how they size engines. i saw the .18 meant .18 cu inch but what does 2.5 stand for in the traxxas 2.5 engine? how big is it? also are there any other trucks that will keep wp with or beat a rustler 2.5. also im not planning on racing it juss gonna mess around in the back yard n around town with it pry. thanx alot

i have a nitro evader st and i have a friend with the rustler and i think the evader does just a good or even better sometimes than the rustler. the DTX .18 engine is a great engine. i know someone with a rustler and a sport maxx which have the same engine and they both have problems with their engine alot. im not exactly sure why its called a 2.5 because it is a .16 engine which is smaller than the .18 on the evader. so i would recommend the evader over the rustler.

the rustler has a trx 2.5 engine. the 2.5 is cc (cubic cenimeters), which means it is a .15 engine. so the evader has a larger engine.

the XTM X-Cellerator will go just as fast if not faster than the rustler and the evader. and it is cheaper than the rustler. it has a pretty good size .18 in it.

the trx2.5 is a .15cu engine. and its the fastest that i know of. i think the max rpms are somewere in the lower 40k's. and the 18 on the duratrash is not nearly as fast. the rustler will smoke a duratrash evader truck.

the .18 in the evader can push it into the high 40's and low 50's pretty easily with the right gearing. Stock its almost to powerful on the lowend. All it does is burnouts and will do wheelies on pavement with good traction. Its got tons of power and much easier to tune than the trx 2.5(IMO).

Yup, that's the stock purple body (same as mine). I posted a review of my Evader experience (all positive) last week in the Monster truck section, didn't notice the ST board until I hit post.

I just got a nitro Evader St for my birthday (27th), last Friday. Quick question though, the left and right knuckle arms rub slightly on the rims. Is this normal, if not how do I correct it?

Thanks

Jason

Pull the wheels off and make sure the bearings are seated.

I had the same thing, the front bearings are not fully seated in the wheel shaft well, just pull your wheels and press the bearings in all the way they should make a slight snap as they go in.

Thanks again guys, wanted to let you know you were correct. Took the front tires off, pushed on the bearings and pop, problem fixed.

One more question, I was reading on a different post to buy thread locker and put it on the screws, what screws? All the screws in the bottom of the plate?

You can put a tiny bit on all the screws. I read in another post that you could put a little ca on the screws. I believe it was easier to break loose later. I havent tried it
