I tried blue loctite on my header before going to a rear exhaust engine and still had problems. The jam nut worked with out a problem. But if it works for you that is all that matters.

Thanks 46U for the reply. Seem like you are the only one who willing to help me out.

I've not run in the LRP 18 yet, i know it is silly for the coming question i wanna ask but i still must ask it. Do you guys think that i should buy another engine OS 18cv-rx for spare and future use? Just in case the LRP 18 give way in future.

The LRP is a good engine but never hurts to have a spare. Being I race my buggy I have 5 engines for it and at least one spare for all my others.

All depends on how much you are willing to spend. A really good servo is going to cost $70 to $125.

the hitec 645mg is a great steer servo cost you about 40 bucks......I use a JR HS for the throttle and it seems to work great so far which are also around the 40 dollar mark

The 645mg is SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you ever run a good servo you will never go back but like I said a good one COST. This is the least I would run.

For the money you cannot beat the OS 18 CV-R or RX. I all so recommend up grade the CB and CB bearing set up. If you have the RTR T15 you will all so need engine mounts.

I'll second that my 18ss screams with the OS.18cvrx engine.....46U Yes that servo is slower than the one you listed but I've never needed faster steering.....I am a basher with an occasional track night for practice...so the 645mg is all I need. I run it in my monster truck as well.....at any rate both servos are a huge improvement over stock....

Have you ever tried a fast servo to see the difference? I have tried both and in my opinion I will never go back. Yes I agree either is better then a stock RTR but just about anything is better then a stock RTR.

for the steering I use a bluebird 620 $25 from nitrohouse, works great 144oz at .13

http://www.nitrohouse.com/acces,_servos.htm

my 18ss + kit is brushless so I can't advise on the throttle/brake

Yes you can put a big block in it with a conversation kit and some modifications. But just be prepared to spend much time replacing broken drive train parts. I have a TZ in mine and found out the hard way what to much power is like! A TZ has as much power as many big blocks. If you want something different and only drive it every now and then it would be neat as a daily runner no.

Even with the engine I run in my MT is way too much power and you will have to do a lot of up dating the drive train particularly if you have a RTR! The SS is closer. It took me time to get it where I could even get a tank of fuel run through it before tearing something up.

First you need to up grade to all the SS drive train, epoxy the drive hex in the wheels, get at least the rear alloy diff housing, need engine mounts, better clutch shoes, being the TZ is rear exhaust you need a new header. As far as a tuned pipe I am running an OS T-1040R 70 that they do not make any more and listed for $70 but I got a smoke deal on mine. Nothing that $300 to $400 will not take car of. If you are talking to me my name is Jeff. [X(]
