The only MT2 I recommend is the SS kit as it has all the heavy duty drive train the RTR does not. I have a MT 1 that has been up graded to a MT 1 ¾ and has given be great service with WELL over 10 gallons on it.

I'm helping a friend find a good replacement engine for his stock mt2, because as we all know the stock star 15 is of the lowest quality. He does not want anything with too much power because of the light duty drivetrain, and any thing with too much power would be not good for racing anyway.

What engine should he get?

I'm thinking of the OS 15cv, but I don't even know if it's a drop in, because a drop in engine is what he really wants.

-Thanks!

NO dont go with the g3.0 ! its another cheap hpi engine the cv -rx 15 will be a direct drop in but you will need engine mounts !

hi! just a quick question. Do you think that i should get this truggy or the firestorm? the firestorm seems more reliable, but the Mt2 is more offroad and 4wd which i want. Please post ur opinion.
Thanx!!

The 15 CV-R is discontinued as the 18 CV-R took its place. He is talking about the 15 CV, which is WAY underpowered. The CV is a very durable engine just has very little power. The 18 CV-R or RX is a very good engine. If you have a place that will let you race a 4 wheel drive stadium truck the 18 CV-R will be a good engine if you know throttle control.

Yes they use to make one but did not go over real well. You sometimes can find them on ebay.

Did you go to HPI web site and compare the two? If not mistake the plus has a better pipe, new style air filter and a higher gear ratio.

Hello, I have an odd question about my MT2 18ss kit.

What can I do to make my stearing tighter, my stearing is loose [&o] I tightened everything, remesured my turnbuckles, and now I'm at a loss I have the GPM alloy front knuckle arms < that might be the problem [:-] but I'm not sure

Anyways my wheeles wobble and my car on the street with street tires at speed will turn on its own and it does this in the dirt with toe in and toe out more so with toe out what can I do about this?

Please help

I am thinking about getting the MT2 G3.0. Is this single speed or 2 speed? If it's single speed, is there a 2 speed kit for it?

I'd get the 18ss kit and all mt2s come as a single speed [8D] you can try the RS4 EVO's two speed

I'm only a kid and would only be able to get this for Christmas. I think that a kit would be too difficult for me.

I'm also somewhat new to nitro. What would it take to install this 2 speed kit? http://www.hpiracing.com/parts/en/10001.html To me, it looks like just installing the CB and gears. is that right?
