Sounds as the set screw in the drive cups has come loose or are worn...try and tighten them and see if it works better (you might need to replace the screws)...

My brother bought a DT10 while over in Iraq. He brought it home and decided to give it to my son (12). I being a motorcycle road racer and mechanic, had to take things apart and see how things worked. I found the plastic clutch disc to have some build up on it so I smoothened it out and adjusted the friction metal plates. That seemed to really help the car out. I also adjusted the steering arm on the servo as it turned more the the right then the left. To be honest though neither my brother or myself knew or knows the first thing about RC cars. I mean I can take things apart and fix anything. However, I don't know what the maintenance schedules are on the motors, performance parts for the motors, suspension schedule maintenance. I would like to know what all the switches and dials are that are on the radio as well. I mean the other stuff I can somewhat figure out but the radio I'm for sure lost at what they control. The radio is a Jaguar 8217 ACE R/C So if anyone has one of these and has some info on it I'd appreciate any info you can share. Thanks a lot.

Mike

HI, i was wondering do they have rc cars in Iraq ??? thats weird !!
OH well every car has a receiver and 2 servos that comes with the remote ok,

the receiver: its the square thing that all the wires is heading to and its like the BRAIN of the car it receive orders from the remote that you hold and take them to the servos.

the servo : its a dynamo that receive's orders from the receiver and goes right and left; one for the gas , and one for the steering

STARTING : if you dont know anything about it you can take from any hobbi store how to start the engine manual, here's some tips :

1- on the tank theres like a button that you should press like 10 times before you start the engine to prime it.
2- put the glow starter on the head of the engine (on the spark plug)
3- start the engine by pulling the pull starter 3 to 10 times
BATTEREIS : theres 4 AA batterys in all the cars if you have allkine you should change them every 3-4 uses i recommend chargeble

HaVe FuN hope i helped, if u didnt know anything just ask.

Fawaz - are you still looking for online DT10 parts suppliers? try here - [link=http://www.anticsonline.co.uk/898_1.html]antics online[/link] or [link=http://www.ashtonmodels.co.uk/acatalog/Index_Spare_Parts_57.html]ashton models[/link] - they're both based in the UK so haven't got a clue what shipping cost will be?

btw. Thanks for everyone's ... erm ... advice - have been lurking in the background for the past few weeks while i decided what to buy and finally settled for ....... a DT10!! stock at the moment but have intentions to max it out some, gotta get rid of the Bettle body shell and get some phat tyres/wheels on it! will post up some piccies someday!

^^_FaWaZ_^^ , you shouldn't have to prime your engine 10 times, 3-4 the most once its at the carb, and it always took 1-2 pull to start it, not 10, if it takes 10 something must be wrong.

I've heard of cars that have started just by putting the glow-igiter on the glowplug...talk about easy to start engine...

It's not really impossible, you just need to have the right amout of fuel in the engine and the cylinder at the right height...
