I have had both trucks. Out of the two the Evader in my opinion is more for backyard bashing. I actually race my X-Cellerator against XXX-NT's and GT's and hold my own. This week I was TQ and won against all Losi trucks. I have did a few mods to my truck but still it is a step above the Evader. Overall quality is better ont he X-Cellerator to.

Here is a picture of our track and my truck. The track is like racing indoor SuperCross and will beat a truck down. I race in the Pro class and not some novice class. We normally get 10 to 25 nitro trucks a week.

X-CELLERATOR. How would you know that the evader was clocked at 51mph by rcca. BECAUSE YOU ARE WRONG. In the isue that rcca did a review on the evader they had not even started with the clocked top speed thing. The duratrax evader bx was clocked by rcca at 34.9mph so the st version will be evn slower. Definetely get the xtm xcellerator. DEFINETELY. THe x-cellerator was clocked ar 46mph by rcca and 50mph by another review.
ya the X-celleraor is fast bus the evader is some times not aloud to race because of A) motor size B) how fast it is C)most trucks like the evader have maby a .15 most of the time its .12 but the evader is aloud to race some of the time ask your local track for rules on that i dont know what size the x-cellrator is but u probly wont be racint that thing un less ther rules alow it

I doubt you guys are getting your stock evaders into the 40's, or 50.6 as neltar said.

The absolute BEST I have gotten my BX to do was 39mph, going WOT for about a 300ft long run. That was with the aftermarket cooling head, alot of the graphite parts, stock gearing, larger (than stock) rear tires, and with the engine running a bit lean.

That pipe is the Paris version Turbo Ring. It does seem to work well but right now I'm actually using a Schumacher pipe. It makes even more lowend power and has a sound like no other pipe I ever heard. It is a very deep sound and not the more high pitch sound you get from the normal Turbo Ring pipes and pipes like them.

The ST has a larger spur gear which creates more top end speed.

Obviously... my logic was a little backwards yesterday. But personally... i don't worry a lot about the top speed, because unless your drag racing across a football field, then you never really see the top speed anyways.

.....you may want to rethink this....

Agreed.

The BX has a clutch/spur gear ratio of 3.29:1, the ST has a clutch/spur ratio of 4:1. The IGR is the same on both of them.

If you want all out speed get an electric pan car.

I always seems like everyone worries about speed but then again I guess 90% of these guys are bashers and worry about having something faster than their buddies.

I say, X-C Engine (i love XTM engines) on the N-Evader's chassis, and you have a winner.

Out of the box, I think the X-c is the better buy, but I couldnt really find any hop-ups for it, just stock replacement parts.

So is it even possible to make the evader go 50mph?
In stock form I doubt it could ever hit 50mph.

XTM for racing/bashing and the Evader for bashing.

Ok well here's my input. I have the evader... only ran about a quart of fuel through it so far... but i'll tell you this.. its got a LOT of acceleration. Too much i think. When i have it tuned properly (usually about 1.5 turns out) you touch the throttle and the front-end jumps up into the air! The battery box is virtually a wheelie bar. (it no longer has 90 degree corners ive scraped it so much). I did NOT think this was going to happen. I had the body off when it happened.. the thing went over backwards and flipped for a loooong distance. Then the controls stopped working. All that happened was a battery popped out (thank goodness for the throttle return spring). Nothin broke tho! All this talk about breaking evaders all the time.. i swear i think something is wrong with mine because i can't get it to break no matter what i do to it. All in all i think its great. 1-year warranty on platic parts, 2-year warranty on engine and that INCLUDES new piston's and sleeves when they wear out! Just send in the motor and they do it for ya for the first 2 years! The ONLY gripe i have about the car is that it is VERY hard to control in dirt... just too much torque in the engine.. makes it very squerlly because you touch the throttle when in dirt and it breaks traction easily. You have to ease onto the throttle and slowly get on it... which makes it quite tough when comming out of a turn.. give it the go and it wants to spin the tires and come around.

Also i just wish it had some more top-end.. its all acceleration and the top-end is somewhere at 40 im judging. Everyone says ohhh yeah your first nitro will have more power than you know what to do with. Well... yeah its quick.. but i want 50mph now lol. But the wheelies are cool!!!

And about the x-cellerator.. yes it can do 50 out of the box. And about people racing it... isnt its engine also a .18 like the evader? Everyone says the vader isnt race legal but really.. is the x-c?

Since your lookin for grass and whatnot... i'd go evader.. like i said it has lots of torque which is really what you want for bashing and going through thick grass and sand.. snow.. all that kinda stuff.

Well the nice thing witht he X-Cellerator is you can buy the truck with everything but the motor and radio and put your ouw motor and radio euipment in and race it in any class you like and still not have a ton of money invested. You can buy the rolling chassis version for under 129 bucks.
