I just got back from the lhs and was hoping to buy some top fuel 20% but they were out so i bought some blue thunder. I went home and started my car and its acting like its on break in. Its cutting out and sputtering and its not too rich and then it will just die. It ran fine on traxxas, i ran 3 tanks of blue thunder. Do i need to let it idle a lot or something for break in? I mean i let it idle a tank and a half. ANd when i gassed it died.

Blue Thunder is not a good fuel... I have heard of too many problems from people using it, and I too have had trouble with it. Look around for O'donnell or even WildKat. I am not sure if WildKat makes nitro for cars though, but it is what I use in my planes.

[&o][&o]Traxxas is no where near the best. Its actually close to the worse. You only want to use traxxas fuel if your running a traxxas vehicle. It has too high oil (18%) and its mostly castor as well....

I have had good luck with blue thunder fuel. I was told to run 15% in summer and 20% in winter by the geniuses at my local lhs. I bought 20% at the end of last winter so I used it in the summer and had no problems so I run 20% all the time. I did have a problem with some blue thunder going bad cause it was old. I had just bought a gallon and then I bought another Tmaxx that came with a gallon of blue thunder with it. By the time I got about half way through the second gallon it went bad. It changed color from blue to almost green.

ok first your lhs lied to get you to spend more money. you shouldnt have to change fuel for colder weather. and going from 20 - 15, is not a good idea. i was always told that it will mess up the engine and not run right if you go down, unless you rebuild the engine. and when you say it went bad, is this because it made your truck run bad or it just changed color? the color in nitro fuel is just simply dye, and is only there so you can see how full your tank is.

The reason I think my fuel went bad was because my trucks wouldn't run without the glow warmer on. It would barely light with a match. I had a hard time using it to burn trash with. I thought my carb or engine was messed up till I bought some fresh fuel then they ran no problem!
