.21 vary greatlly in prices. If you want the best of the best an RB concepts C5 would best suit you...if you are on a budget however there are many different engines to choose from.
I would recomend getting a RB Concepts engine over a novarossi...just because of my experience with NOvarossi carbs....i mean their not bad but for what you pay for the engine I think it should be better.
As mentioned if you want the best go with the RB C5 otherwise you should go with a cheaper model...
BTW: what chassis you putting the .21 in? This would could also help in deciding what engine to get...if you are planning on putting it in a 1/10 scale car I would go with the on-road version. These engines are made for heavier cars and if you were to use a small stadium truck then you could use an on-road .21 to achieve even more to speed without sacrificing acceleration that much.
PS: PM me if any of this doesnt mae sense I jsut got back from work and my mind has yet to reboot...

oh yeah, what would the best header and tuned pipe for the c5 be? is the c5 a rear port slide carb? that is what i am really looking for a great rear port slide carb .21 that can reach crazy speed like around 100 mph or so...also can i put a turbo plug and button in? i want optimal speed!!!!! that is why its called project speed.

yeah the rb is a rear exhaust slide carb engine.

heres the link.
As for pipe I would get either an rb pipe or an good novarossi pipe iots your choice.
The engine actually uses turbo plugs standard so there wont be any buttons to change.

120? no he didn't do 120. that just isnt really possible, maybe about 80. a .21 will not top out as high as a small block, therefor you will have to gear the car higher if you mean your putting a .21 in a st. also(im guessing you are gona put it in your gt?) your gona have a real hard time mounting a big block in a gt. if you do get it to work you will pry break stuff real fast, like all of the tranny gears, and cvds, plus it shouldnt be a hole lot faster top end, if any.

again i cant say where its going because its Project Speed but I do know that the cars top speed was around 120 for the simple fact that we know a guy out in Cali with the exact same set up and a cop clocked it at that speed but we are goin to get a radar gun in the next month or so and i will post all my peoples top speeds
As for Project Speed I have everything figured otu all I need is the chassis and the rest of the parts lol im doin it completley graphite and nylon adn plastic. Maybe I am puttin the .21 on my Losi xxx-nt? lol we wont know but I will post tons of pictures when finished in about 4 or 5 months. Even my buddies dont know about this one
Thas how sectrect it is lol

well good luck. i still dont believe 120, and wont untill i see video evidence of the car and radar gun. that would be too fast, and you would have to have the best radio, eyesight, reaction time, and someplace really high to sit to drive it.

we are going to get a radar gun very soon and i will upload video images of it for you i am not garaunteeing a 120 reading because he may not do it considering he has to lean his car a little but i will get you at least 90mph on video with radar proof

New Era Models (www.neweramodels.com) makes a drop-in kit for putting a .21 into a GT. You won't get 100mph, though because the tires stick out and cause too much drag.

no i dont think you guys understand. the thing wouldnt go 100mph cause the engine wont top out high enough. i dont think it would be possible to gear a gt high enough to get 100mph, and if you could it would be geared to high and take like 2 minutes to reach 100.

Only way I see that kind of speed would be with like a 4 speed transmission. I have seen up to 80 but like you ericheller it seems pretty sketchy. Maybe a 4 speed with the ek4 .70 engine and all custom designed with special wheels, suspension and drag tests made by nascar or something like that.

I think you're measuring in KPH, because 100mph is FAST. If it was that easy, that you could get a 1/8th car and easily make it do 120mph, and Steve Pond wouldn't be spending thousands of dollars on that Super Nitro highly modded NovaRossi .21 to get it to pass 100mph. No video needed, because you can always speed it up and make it look fast. The GT might get a max of 70 if you still want some acceleration with a .21, and the 1/8 will most likely get to 80 but definately not 100. 120kph is about 80mph, and that sounds about right. You were most likely in KPH.
Most high-performance .21 race engines do rev higher than small block engines. But even their 40k rpm isn't enough to push a car to 100mph without major mods.
100mph just isn't going to happen unless you really dish out big bucks... sorry. [
