Default pull start/bump start

If I have a pull start on my engine do I have to take it off to use a starter box? I know that a pull start has a one way bearing. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

u can keep it or take it off and take the backplate as well and put a cover for the engine instead of the backplate, i took it off but kept the backplate and ALLOT of power increased
