Nobody currently makes or probably will make a 2 speed for the rustler. I have seen one heavily modified rustler using the 4tec 2 speed in it. I would not recommend doing this however. Why don't you just put a bigger engine and do some regearing. Mine goes over 50 and is plenty fast on the low and high end with a fantom .18.

I'm not sure about the phantom but if you go with a O.S. .15 cv-r they have adapter plates so the ez start will fit. As far as the 2speed thing goes it's basically whatever you can Mcgyver into that truck. If you have any luck please keep us informed.
Oh yea! Welcome to the R/C Universe. You may have to spend some time going through the official nitro rustler!! thread but it will help you out ALLOT!

im gonna buy the trinity sirio .18 for my rustler, the easy start is a direct fit on it since the motor was made for the t-maxx... im looking forward to the 1.9 hp

the 2 .18's out there are the fantom and sirio that are direct fit. Both will work with the easy or pull start from the 2.5. They do require a different header then what is supplied and on my rustler with the fantom you can not access your lsn because the transmission blocks access to it. I haven't found this to be a problem though. The only problem with these engines is keeping your transmission in one piece. There seem to be no upgrades for the planetary gears and cups and these are what I have been grinding through. I cleaned and fixed everything and gave them a nice coat of molybdenum grease and adjusted the slipper very carefully and I seem to be fine now. It is an extremely fast engine and all you'll ever need in the rusty.
