I have a nitro Rustler with a Fantom .12 engine and just got a Team Associated low end tuned pipe for it, but I'm having problems getting the truck to prime (the finger-over-stinger method) and I have to disconnect the fuel line from the exhaust and blow in it to get the truck to prime, but that's a pain in the butt. What gives?

Try replacing the fuel line with the clear kind so you can see it enter the carb. Then turn the engine over a couple more times. then try to start it. That's what i do to my maxx and it starts everytime.

I already have clear blue fuel lines, so I can see through the lines to see the gas flowing. Also, the only way I can get the fuel from the tank to the carb is if I blow on the tank-to-pipe fuel line, but then it will start then die after a couple seconds. I think the problem is that gas isn't getting sucked out of the tank at all. I've checked the manifold screws, which were a little loose, so I put thread lock on them and tightened 'em up. I checked all the fuel lines to make sure they are connected to the tank, pipe, and carb well. I checked to make sure my fuel filter wasn't dirty. I looked at the L-coupler (it's a peice of crap, but the hobby shop I went to didn't have the exact manifold I want, so I had to use the stock coupler) very well for cracks. I can't think of ANYTHING that could be making it not suck up gas, and it's making me mad. HELP![sm=confused.gif]

That may be it, 'cause I've pretty much ALWAYS had a problem with the truck priming. It's only worked properly when I first got it and maybe a couple months afterward.

C'MON PEOPLE! I have a NITRO RUSTLER! There is no fuel filter in the tank, and, jkdv8, there is no primer bulb (PM message)! Work with me here.

I fiound out what was wrong with the truck. I was blowing through the tank-to-pipe line to prime itand I noticed some gas bobbling out of the place where the carb goes into the engine. How do I fix this leak?

I switched the seal out with the one from my old TRX Pro 15 carb and it fixed it. Now it primes REALLY well (so good that I keep flooding it), and now I just have to work on the tuning and getting used to tuning again, since I haven't driven my truck in about 5 months or so.

Weel, of course as soon as I get one problem I run into another problem or two.
