I've never driven an Evader, but I own an X-Cellerator. I won't try to compare the two. The top speed of the X-Cell is usually clocked in the high 40s/really low 50s. The XTM website is http://xtm.globalhobby.com/ and since it is a relatively new truck, there are only a few hopups for it that are made by XTM. You can see them here: http://www.hobbypeople.net/hopup/14561001.asp I like the X-C for bashing because you get a lot of power out of that stock .18 engine.

The xtm team is releasing hopups finally... but the real question is... how do you plan to DRIVE the truck? XTM is more race friendly and is better over all.

Bash and race, dont care what comes on truck: RTR version

Racing, want that advantage and better radio quality: Get ROLLING CHASSIS and then PICK your own engine and PICK your own radio gear. You will spend more but you GET more! 4 Proline tires come with this rolling chassis!!! Don't forget you get many extras with this truck too!

My buddy has the Nitro Evader ST (I have the Losi XXX-NT). I would guess that his truck, after breakin, does approximately 40-45. With stock everything on both trucks, I have been faster off the line, but he has a higher top speed. The Evader is relatively easy to work on. I found it easier to get the gas tank off with his truck than it is on mine. The parts are easy to find and there seems to be a good amount of hop-ups available.

We do a fair amount of bashing, and his broken parts have been limited to a couple of spur gears, a front arm, and the brake disc got fried! Somehow the brake froze shut during one run and fried it to pieces. This hasn't happened again since cleaning it. The spur gears were a result of a problem he was having keeping the brass nut on the LSN tight. The nut would loosen, and he'd have a WOT run away truck! Interesting to watch from my perspective! not so funny to him!

Overall, I think the evader is a good bashing truck. I don't have any experience with the X-Cellerator...

Hope that helps some...

Um... correct me if I am wrong... but all the big r/c car mags say that the evader is just a truck and buggy Duratrax purchased from Losi (retired versions like XX). They kind of lag in technology right now... whats with RTR coming in .18s? Drop in some racing .12s!

I've heard the Duratrax took similar designs from the RC10GT and made them cheaper.. really. Both the Evader and X-Cellerator have stock .18 engines.. but the x-cellerator is a little faster (lets say 5-6 mph faster).. but when you think of the speeds, also look at the prices, the evader is much cheaper than the XTM.. but is a very nice machine for I own one myself. If tossed it and flipped tons of times and it luckily hasn't broke yet, so it's surpassing the old standards as 'Duratrash' and is actually doing well with its opponents. If you have the extra money, by the XTM for the performance.. but if you want a cheaper, more bang for your buck truck, get the Evader.

Have gas in mind too.. those beefy 18's gulp nitro like a penguin diving into a watermelon
