He's just replacing all the black plastic parts you see in the picture with aluminum ones. It's not any more complicated than that. It makes it much stronger, which should be obvious. Anybody have a diagram that labels the different parts?
The only downsides to aluminum are a) it costs more b) it doesn't snap (usually) - when you crash, instead of one part snapping, the aluminum bends and puts force on other parts which can cause more damage c) weight. It's usually a good thing unless you're really worried about weight (i.e. you're into racing) or costs. In helis aluminum parts are much more precise, but you only replace those that really affect performance in smaller models because it weighs a lot more. If you crash with an aluminum heli, often you're screwed.

Thank you, as soon as I am done messing w/ my mini t, I am going to be getting some aluminum rear hubs, and some Aluminum front spindles/hub carriers. I then want to look into a CF chassis soon.
